Hi, I'm Nicholas. I've always been fascinated by one simple question — what does a name really mean? Not just the dictionary definition, but the history behind it, the culture that shaped it, and the story it carries through generations. That curiosity is what led me to create Names That Means.

I'm a language researcher and etymology writer with a deep interest in how names travel across cultures and centuries — from ancient Sanskrit roots and classical Greek, through medieval European courts, to modern Japanese kanji traditions. I love tracing the journey a name takes before it reaches us today.

What started as a personal obsession quickly became a mission: to build the most reliable, easy-to-understand name resource on the internet.
